This statement had a powerful effect on me. If people in this country don't understand anything else about politics, they need to understand this. What we do (or chose not to do) can matter. Not just to us. To the entire world. It's not an ego-boost. It's a responsibility.
You've got THAT right! Just check out all of the people in this world who literally risk their lives for the right to cast their single vote. And then there's people here who don't vote because it's drizzling outside or they just don't feel like putting their shoes on. Drives me crazy, I tell ya!
