I turned invisible at about 41 -- but I gained weight due to fibromyalgia and cut my hair really short right around that time.
Since I got the illness under control, I'm active again, and I've dropped all the weight. I also grew my hair back out.
And I'm no longer invisible. I'm not saying I get the attention I did at 25 (or even 35), but I do get some. And it's just enough, really -- I get my ego stroked every once in a while without feeling like I'm navigating a slime trail every day of my life.
I'd say I'm pretty invisible at 49...no spouse, mom to an early adult, old timer in the work force. Why the hell am I here anyway?????
